Our Story

Woodworking began as a childhood hobby. In middle school, once a week, my mom would drive me to the next town over to learn from a family friend, George. I built birdhouses, a toolbox, and many other projects in his shop and my initial skills and love for the craft formed.

 

As I got older, I lost touch with this passion, playing hockey competitively, going to college, and focusing on a career in the corporate world. During the early parts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the passion was rediscovered while remodeling a bedroom to serve as a home office – new paint, trim, a custom closet organizer, and wooden floors. With the passion re-lit and my competitive hockey playing days well behind me, I started building the first workshop in my basement and amassing some tools. The hobby quickly became one of my biggest passions again, making gifts for family and friends which led to friends asking me make pieces for them. Hoffer Woodworking was born.

  • November 2020: Basement Shop in St. Louis, MO is built.

  • August 2021: First Coffee Table is delivered.

  • May 2022: First Dining room table is delivered.

  • September 2022: Shop is moved from St. Louis, MO basement to 2-car garage of new home near Harrisburg, PA after relocating to be closer to family.

  • October 2022: Hoffer Woodworking is incorporated as an LLC.

  • January 2023: Hoffer Woodworking has first physical presence at a booth in Carlisle, PA at the Carlisle Artisan Market.

  • May 2023: Hoffer Woodworking expands physical presence with a booth in Camp Hill, PA at the 32nd Mercantile.

  • June 2023: Hoffer Woodworking does its first market, Creatively Lancaster at Clipper Magazine Stadium.
